MTV sends in the stars for movie awards
MTV has announced its all-star line-up of presenters for this year’s movie awards, airing June 1. Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Steve Carell and Megan Fox are among the celebs slated to hand out golden popcorn trophies. The awards aim for irreverent fun, but have been a snoozefest for the past decade or so. However, the attendance of La Lohan and her precarious sobriety is sure to bring tabloid speculation. I’m just wondering if she’ll be wearing leggings from her new leggings line.
The show will be hosted by funnyman Mike Myers, who last hosted back in 1997. Says Myers: “Hosting the MTV Movie Awards is like a party, but without having to do beer runs in your mom’s minivan. We do beer runs in Will Smith’s four-story motor home.” Last year’s shindig was hosted by Sarah Silverman, whose monologue consisted largely of jabs at a prison-bound Paris Hilton. Maybe this year the heiress will opt to stay home.
