Zooey, is that you?: Unflattering cover shots
Zooey Deschanel is the latest It girl to grace the cover of a mag looking nothing like herself. Here she is on the June/July issue of BlackBook, virtually unrecognizable. It could be any pale girl by the pool, too blinded by the sunlight to look seductive. And Deschanel has such a great face. I blame a weird angle, harsh lighting, and heavy-handed photo shop, all of which have stripped the lovely Zooey of her charms.
Fergie is another victim of alien-looking, photoshopped-out covers, as well as Scarlett Johannson. Both sexy ladies, but magazine covers find them looking unnatural and constipated, not at all like the confident women they are.
And have you seen this one of the usually enchanting Rachel Bilson?
It’s a men’s mag so you gotta show the bod, but ugh, what a strange, uncomfortable pose. Are they shooting her in a crawlspace or something? Can’t GQ afford to let a girl stand up or at least have some leg room?
