“Project Runway” Season 5 does “The Wizard of Oz”
Last night I had insomnia, and what should creep into my restless thoughts but Project Runway, the tenth episode of which I had recently viewed on trusty old YouTube. I started thinking about Jerrell’s bizarre fashion sense, not his designs but the clothes he himself wears. For example, he usually appears on the runway in a suit jacket with the sleeves hacked off. Last episode he topped that off with a hat of dark feathers. The effect was kind of scarecrow chic, I thought. In my sleep-deprived state, this made me think of The Wizard of Oz, and then it hit me that Kenley is a dead-frickin’-ringer for Dorothy. That retro hair and her ruby-red lipstick. She probably even admires Dorothy’s “aesthetic” and I can definitely see her in sparkly red heels with white socks. With Jerrell as the scarecrow and Kenley as Dorothy, I knew I had to cast the rest of the characters before I could sleep. This is what I came up with:
Joe as the cowardly lion. He might not be as loveable but can’t you picture him in costume, clutching his tail and stuttering?
Suede as the Tin Man. Something about his face just says ”Cover me with silver paint.”
For the Wicked Witch, none other than Nina Garcia.
Michael Kors as the man behind the curtain.

And last but not least, the lovely Heidi Klum as Glenda the good witch.

Oh, and I suppose Blayne would want to play. He could be one of the flying monkeys!

Don’t forget Leann. She has that cute but sad puppy dog thing going on. Can you say Toto?
You’re right, Leanne would be a fabulous Toto.
