Like most actresses, Scarlett Johansson’s hair color changes every month. She’s gone from bottle blond to chestnut brown and back again, but her latest incarnation as a redhead still feels fresh and sexy. She recently attended an event for Moet & Chandon, where it was announced that she would be the new spokesperson for the champagne. Hollywood glamour. She was overheard saying that her new look was for her role in Ironman 2 but I say keep it because red hair really suits her! See some of the colorful star’s more offbeat looks below.

In January, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie married actor beau Josh Duhamel in what People magazine described as a “white fantasy wedding.” The pair had been engaged for a year prior to their wedding, and dated for three years before that. So Fergie the newly wed should be in a good place at the moment, right? Then why is she channeling Morticia Adams?

The star just debuted a flat ironed brunette look that is more sophisticated but also on the somber side. She looks more like a recent divorcee announcing her independence than someone who just returned from a tropical honeymoon. Why so serious, Fergalicious?

Look, I like Mary-Kate. If you’re psychologically-inclined, you might say I’m obsessed with the little critter. This blog masquerades as a celebrity gossip blog but every other post I write is about you-know-who.

One of the things I like about MK is that, though touted as a style icon, she bases her look on a lot of fashion don’ts. Her appeal is that she wears things wrong. She makes shirts out of table cloths and blankets, cynching them at the waist with something she found at a car repair shop. On a bad day, you’d find her ripping apart a Vogue magazine rather than studying its photoshoots.

And yet her looks are irritatingly catchy. Here she is at cocktail party at Barney’s New York, wearing bronzer around her eyes, nude pink lipstick and a trench coat. The makeup strikes me as endearing, only because she looks like my makeup-challenged best friend from high school after a long, drunken night.

The stringy hair and the I-will-cut-you smile complete the look. Who knows what she’s got on under that trench. My guess? Pajamas.

Mary-Kate Olsen recently attended the Metropolitan Opera Gala, and the starlet had undergone quite the makeover. The event, held at Lincoln Center’s Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, was the perfect time to debut a dramatic look. Never one to subtly tweak her appearance, MK went all-out, sporting big, curly, bleach blond hair and fire engine red lipstick. Fashion bloggers are comparing her latest style foray to early Madonna or Courtney Love.

Also new is the handsome young man who accompanied her to the event. Olsen has been dating artist Nate Lowman, but he was nowhere in sight. Instead her escort for the evening was New York Times Style magazine writer Alex Hawgood. A rep for the actress dismissed the idea that the two are dating, saying ”They are very good friends, and he is friends with Ashley as well.” I see…

Season 6 of Project Runway has already wrapped up, but fans are yet to see an episode due to the show’s legal problems. The season’s three finalists recently showed their collections at New York’s Fashion Week, but producers had them show anonymously. The popular series finds itself without a network or a premier date for its latest season, so the finale was missing its usually celebratory air. Producers kept everything secret so as not to spoil the show’s ending for viewers. 

“I’m a little bit sad for our designers, that they don’t get that recognition today,” said host Heidi Klum. The overall mood of the runway show was a downer, according to The New York Times. Reporters were not allowed backstage, and there were obviously no audience favorites, as the finalists remain unknown. Said past winner Christian Siriano, “For the contestants, it’s kind of horrible.” As Heidi Klum has repeatedly told us, in fashion, one week you’re in and the next you’re out. Will fans still be interested by the time the show’s legal troubles are sorted out, or will Heidi & co. be old news by then?  

What is it about the loopier half of Les Olsens lately? MK has a history of pulling strange faces in front of the cameras–she was notorious for her bizarre, duck-lipped smile, for example. Well, it looks like a case of the fugly face is back, as these photos show. MK’s a stunning girl, but she pulls weird expressions. Here she is at the front row of the Proenza Schouler show with Nicole Ritchie.

Her eyes look more catlike than usual, like she’s had work done, and her face seems immobile. Maybe it’s MK’s makeup or nerves, but Nicole Ritchie has never looked more normal in comparison! On the plus side, MK’s looking healthier and less skeletal all the time, and I like her outfit. If you love MK’s taste in shoes, you can hop on the ankle boot trend with this stylish but significantly cheaper Fitzwell Nadia II shoe from Zappos.

MK would also heartily approve of this leather stiletto heel from Celine.

Ouch! Katie Holmes glamglamGLAMS it up in the Spring ad campaign for Miu Miu. Miu Miu is the cheaper, ready-to-wear line from the Prada fashion house created by Italian designer Miuccia Prada. Holmes is the latest face for a collection that’s seen a host of celebrity models. Previous Miu Miu muses include Selma Blair, Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Lohan, and Johnny Depp’s wife, Vanessa Paradis.

Many have pointed out similarities to Holmes’ pal Posh Beckham, who also sports a short ‘do and a fiercely robotic expression. New York Magazine calls Holmes’ look “repressed and glazed-over,” which is pretty damn accurate. But for a certain set of models that’s the norm, no? 

Angelina Jolie reportedly “dissed” Ryan Seacrest at the Golden Globes yesterday. Seacrest attempted to score an interview with the actress and Brad Pitt, but the golden couple sailed past him, oblivious to his chirpy appeals. Let’s imagine the scene because it has a lot of dramatic potential. Short, yappy Seacrest goes into internal convulsions when he spots Brangelina from a distance, wafting along on their separate plane of existence. He tries to keep his cool. He has a history with Jolie. He attempted to engage her in red carpet banter at the 2006 Golden Globes, but the actress was distant and cool in her responses. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was dying at the time. He takes deep breaths and recites his calming mantra. He fingers the Xanax in his suit pocket and calls out to the pair in what he hopes is his typically casual, tv-friendly manner. 

But poor Seacrest is invisible to Brangelina; he hasn’t done enough humanitarian work to register in their line of vision. They stride past in slow-motion like the ultimate prom king and queen, while Ryan the lowly band geek scampers after them to get signatures for his yearbook. They aren’t snubbing Seacrest, it’s just that they can’t see or hear him. To Angelina, he’s the equivalent of a gnat, a pesky buzzing sound that’s soon drowned out by the waves of inner peace that roll out from under her billowing grecian-style gown. She is held aloft in the tower of her own aura, and can’t make out the small dog pissing in excitement at the base of her grandeur.

Today Seacrest spoke about the snub on his KIIS-FM radio show, saying, “I don’t think Angelina thinks I’m that important… I don’t think I’m top of mind for Brad and Angelina. I honestly don’t believe they’d know who I was…”  

I’ve missed Cate Blanchett. There were a few months there where she wasn’t in anything and didn’t have any movie premiers to attend. She was probably having babies, which as a rule is what she does during her down time. Now she’s back on the scene, promoting her new film with Brad Pitt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Thank heavens! Here’s an outfit that landed her on Go Fug Yourself:

Not so surprising really; we all know the woman LOVES metallics. Looks a little like a Christmas ornament. The flesh-tone nylon peeking out kind of bugs me, but without it the dress might be painful. It appears to be a mosaic, and as we all learned in Art History 101, mosaics are made of broken glass pieces. So who knows if she can even sit down?  

Next Blanchett donned a pleated aluminum foil flapper dress (or is it fish scales?), also garnering her a place on Go Fug. I don’t think this is terrible or fabulous, maybe a tad unflattering in the shin area. Let’s hope that for her next event, Cate goes wild and wears a color. Shiny’s great once in awhile, but it’s time for a new fashion infatuation.

Isn’t she loooovely? Isn’t she won-der-ful? Everybody’s favorite fashion oddity attended an event in Miami Beach with beau-of-the-moment, artist Nate Lowman. MK’s always been a fan of unexpected style combinations, and here her ensemble is classic Olsen. She looked boho chic on top, with an ankle-length turquoise coat and patterned hippie-ish dress paired with the shoes of a dominatrix. Let’s examine those babies: studded ankle braces, open-toed and open-backed, with giant black screws that look quite capable of drilling through the floor for heels. If she’s planning on being locked in a closet or handcuffed to a bedpost later those shoes might just be her ticket to freedom. Smart girl. (Maybe I’ve been watching too many Wire in the Blood DVDs .)

In fact, we do know a little something about what went down later on and it involved sucking face. That’s right, MK and Master Lowman were photographed making out.  Quipped that nasty Perez Hilton, “Even cute little trolls fall in love.”
